If a tooth has caries (decay), it cannot recover without intervention. The only way to treat dental caries is to remove it. This is done by first anaesthetising the area, drilling away the decayed tooth structure, and placing a white resin filling into the tooth. In some cases, the decay has started underneath an already existing filling. If this is the case, the old filling is completely or partially removed, the decayed area removed, and the filling placed.

Dark, grey fillings are a thing of the past. At North Brisbane Dental Clinic, we use tooth coloured resins for fillings in order to achieve an aesthetically pleasing and comfortable result.
