A dental implant consists of an artificial tooth that has been anchored into the jaw bone, and is processed in two stages.

The first stage is the implant itself. A titanium screw is placed into the jaw bone. This procedure is usually done under local anaesthetic in our rooms. Once this has healed, we test the implant to ensure it has integrated sufficiently into the jaw bone and is ready to receive pressure. We then manufacture a porcelain tooth that is screwed into the implant. Placing the crown over the implant only takes about 5 minutes and requires no anaesthetic. Once restored, an implant is an excellent substitute for a real tooth. To find out more about dental implants, call us on 3632 8100 or book online now.
