Invisalign

Invisalign is the the clear alternative to braces. Developed with orthodontists, Invisalign is the virtually invisible and hygienic alternative to braces that lets you keep smiling during your treatment.

Invisalign uses a series of custom made clear removable aligners that gradually move teeth toward the smile you've always wanted. Invisalign is so discreet most people wont even notice you're wearing them.

Invisalign fits with your lifestyle to ensure that your treatment doesn't hold you back. The removable nature of the aligners means that you can take them out for special occasions, continue to eat your favourite foods, and brush and floss normally to keep your gums healthy.

Recent developments have examined the clinical scope of Invisalign treatment. Nowadays the Invisaligns system can be used to treat most orthodontic patients with increasingly complex malloclusions; from overly crowded teeth and under-bites to jaw problems and tooth alignment.

The Hygeinic Benefits of Straighter Teeth

Healthier GumsProperly positioned teeth are easier to brush and floss than teeth that are crowded, crooked, or spaced too far apart. Properly aligned teeth can help gums fit more tightly around them, which may lead to better periodontal health.

Easier CleaningsWith Maintenance of good oral hygiene, the chances of having plaque retention, or developing tooth decay or developing periodontal gum disease, can be reduced.

Decreased Risk of Abnormal WearProperly aligned teeth can be less stressful on the supporting bone jaw joints.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign takes a modern approach to straightening teeth. Using a series of custom made aligners created for you, and only you. These aligners are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you simply wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements that your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You simply pop in a new set of aligners, approximately 2 weeks, until your treatment is complete and you achieve the confident smile that you've always wanted. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you are straightening your teeth.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost of invisalign treatment depends on the severity of your case. A simple case involving minimal tooth movement costs $5000, whereas a more complicated case would cost closer to $7000. The best way to determine how much you would need to invest in order to straighten your teeth is to book a free consultation appointment with Dr Georgia Sheahan to discuss the specifics of your case.

At your consultation, you will receive a full itemised quote for treatment. Once this quote has been accepted, it does not change. The quote you receive at the beginning of treatment is all inclusive, with absolutely no extra charges or hidden costs. You will see an itemised list of treatment stages, including clinical photographs, x-rays, impressions (moulds), bite registration, placement of attachments, aligners, review appointments and retainers. All of this will be included in your initial quote.

The Treatment Process Explained

Your custom-made smile program
Once your dentist or orthodontist confirms that your issue can be corrected with the Invisalign system, he or she will prescribe a detailed treatment plan that determines how each of your aligners will change throughout your program. When you begin treatment, you'll wear each set of custom-made aligners in approximately two-week increments. The aligners gently move your teeth into position, and at the end of each two-week period, you "graduate" to the next set of custom-made aligners.

Step by step to a great smile
As you progress through the series of aligners, your teeth will begin moving, little by little. You don't have to wait until you complete treatment to see your smile change - you may start seeing positive changes early in the process. You will have occasional checkups with your dental provider - often as little as once every six weeks - in order to gauge your progress. And at the end of your treatment, you'll be showing off a smile you never knew you'd have before you had Invisalign.

Your lifestyle. Your schedule.
So how long will it take to finish your treatment? For most adults, treatment time is just under one year. Of course, your total treatment time depends on your particular situation, so it's important to speak with your dental provider about how your situation and goals fit into an Invisalign treatment program.
